Kistkeep

Platform · Documents & Assets

Everything you've stored, organised by type.

From your Will to your car insurance, Kistkeep keeps every document and named asset organised, searchable, and ready for the people you choose.

The Kistkeep documents view, organised by category

Built around how documents actually get lost.

18 categories, 172 document types

Wills, Power of Attorney, property records, insurance policies, passports, and everything else, organised by type, not by folder guesswork.

Find things by what they are

Search and filter by category, not by remembering which vaguely-named PDF has what you need.

Expiry reminders

Passports, policies, and licences get flagged before they lapse, not after.

Beyond documents: named assets too

Property, vehicles, and other named assets sit alongside your documents, plus notes, physical files logged in the file manager, and even pets, so nothing important lives only in your head.

Eighteen categories, built around real paperwork.

Every category below maps to document types most people actually have, not a generic "other" bucket that ends up holding half your vault.

From shoebox to searchable, in four steps.

1

Upload once

Scan or photograph a document, or upload a PDF directly. Kistkeep suggests a category and type automatically.

2

Fill in what matters

Each document type has its own set of relevant fields, a policy number, a provider, an expiry date, so you're not stuck with one generic "notes" box for everything.

3

Attach the file, or note where it lives

Not every important document is digital. If a hard copy lives in a specific drawer or with a solicitor, log that instead, so the location itself is never lost.

4

Share it, or don't, per document

Sharing is opt-in and per-item. A document stays private until you explicitly grant a trusted contact access to it.

Encrypted at rest, searchable when you need it.

Documents use Kistkeep's standard server-side envelope encryption, AES-256 with per-item keys, the same model used by every major password manager and cloud storage provider. That's a deliberate choice: it's what keeps search, expiry reminders, and AI-assisted document extraction working, without asking you to trade away convenience for security. Read more about how the different modules are protected on the Security page.
